The Bismarck Historical Society and the State Historical Society of North Dakota are celebrating Bismarck’s 142nd birthday Tonight----Wednesday, May 14th at the Camp Hancock State Historic Site, 101 E. Main Avenue.  The event is free and begins at 6:30pm. There will be a flag ceremony, music by St. Mary’s Steel Drum Band and Jazz Band, and a tree dedication in honor of Frank Vyzralek, historian, author, and North Dakota’s first archivist.  There will be some fun activities for kids and free ice cream and cake.  Please bring chairs and blankets for the concert.  If the weather is bad, the party will be moved to the North Dakota Heritage Center (Missouri River Special Events Center).
