For the most part, North Dakota doesn't get a lot of national attention, but that doesn't mean we don't end up on a major news station from time to time. 

North Dakota is considered one of the last states people want to visit, which also means we don't get a whole lot of national attention. Sometimes our amazing state makes its way into national news. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.

    Minot Flood


    Floods across the state, including Bismarck and Fargo, made national news. However, the flood in Minot received the most attention. Thousands of homes flooded in 2011 leaving many North Dakotans without a place to go. The city of Minot is still rebuilding after the devastating event.

    Who could forget Craig Cobb and his attempted takeover of Leith, ND? The white supremacist put Leith on the map for all the wrong reasons in the fall of 2012. Two filmmakers even documented the story in 'Welcome to Leith.'
