A 95 year old man died following a crash just outside Stanley on Wednesday (Jan. 3).

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 95 year old man was driving a Ford F-150 on US 2 with a Kenworth dump truck following behind.

The man in the F-150 lost control of the vehicle and began to fishtail. The F-150 entered the median but the driver was able to steer the vehicle back onto the road when the Kenworth truck ended up hitting the passenger side of the F-150.

The F-150 then spun into the North side ditch where the vehicle came to rest facing south. The 35 year old driving the Kenworth truck drove back around to render aid.

Unfortunately the man driving the F-150 died. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash and said that they would release the name of the deceased 95 year old tomorrow (Jan. 4).

UPDATE 1/4/18: The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the name of the man who died was Clifford Bakke
