Did you know, there are 59 National Parks in the United States? I for one, did not know exactly how many there were. An even better question, can you name at least half of them?

Active Times did the task of ranking every National Park in the country. I think we all know the big ones, Yellowstone National Park, I know of Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas (because I lived there), Great Smokey Mountains National Park, The Badlands National Park (South Dakota) and of course Theodore Roosevelt National Park, here in North Dakota. These are just a few I know off the top of my head.

The question is, what are the top National Parks in the country and where does our National Park in Medora rank? Here are the top rankings according to Active Times.

  1. Yosemite National Park- California
  2. Glacier National Park - Montana
  3. Zion National Park- Utah
  4. Everglades National Park, Florida
  5. Bryce Canyon National Park - Utah
