Ever wish you had the ability to at the very least diagnose issues with your pet?

Now you can with a new online course being offered by the American Red Cross. The Red Cross for a long time has offered First Aid and CPR courses for assisting humans in time of need.

But for the first time, a similar course is being offered to allow you to take care of your pets in times of emergency. Depending on where you live or the time of day, it isn't always easy to get access to a veterinarian.

The course offers the training needed to be able to understand your pet's vital signs as well as assist them after they suffer a wound, cardiac event, seizure or other emergency.

The course takes about 30 minutes to complete and you can do it at your own pace. It doesn't all need to be completed at one time. The cost of the training is $25.

It should be noted that this training is specifically geared towards cats and dogs. So for the lizard, bird, amphibian and other pet owners, you'll have to wait before a first aid course is available to you, if one ever becomes available.

You can enroll in the cat/dog first aid course by going here.
