A Bismarck man hopped into the back of a delivery truck Wednesday morning, March 16th, in an attempt to steal liquor. Unfortunately for the would-be robber, the delivery driver saw him and locked him inside.

According to KFYR-TV, 24-year old Virgil Standing Crow was arrested for robbery and unlawful entry to a motor vehicle.

The Bismarck Police Department stated that Standing Crow threatened the delivery driver at Captain Jack's Liquor Land, 808 S. Second St., early Wednesday morning.

The suspect then jumped into the back of the delivery truck. Upon entering the truck, the driver shut the back door, locking Standing Crow inside until police could arrive.

Once officers were on the scene, they opened the door of the truck and ordered Standing Crow to the ground at gunpoint. While locked inside the truck, Standing Crow threw around boxes of liquor, amounting to nearly $600 in damage.

Standing Crow is currently housed at the Burleigh County Detention Center. His bond has been set at $5,000.
