Yesterday (Jan 29th), Bismarck mayor John Warford announced that he would not seek re-election, but instead he would become the new dean at the University of Mary's Gary Tharaldson School of Business.

According to a press release distributed by UMary, Warford had decided to retire from public service earlier this year and is already looking forward to his next adventure:

I am deeply humbled and excited that President Monsignor James Shea and the University of Mary community would have confidence in me for this important post.

Warford has been the mayor of Bismarck for the past 12 years. He will take over at UMary in June.
