[UPDATE, 7/3/14, 12:13pm] - According to the Bismarck Police Department's Facebook page, the suspect has been identified and charges are pending. Because the individual has not been arrested, the name is not being released at this time.

The Bismarck Police Department needs your help in locating a driver who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene of the accident on Tuesday night (7/1) at the North Walmart. 

At approximately 9:12pm on Tuesday, July 1st, a 56-year-old woman was pushing her shopping cart out of the store. As she was walking through the crosswalk, she was struck by a northbound 2000s model maroon Ford F250 pickup with the front center of the vehicle, knocking her to the ground. According to the police report, the vehicle had a Camel cigarette vanity license plate "SMOOTH1", which is not a real license plate.

The driver is described as a white male, mid-20s, wearing a black baseball cap with possible facial hair.

Police later located the suspected vehicle around 19th and Century and attempted to stop

it, but it fled eastbound on Century Avenue at a high rate of speed and police did not pursue.

The victim was taken to St. Alexius hospital.
