Due to the recent holidays coupled with copious amounts of snow, United Blood Services in the region is reporting that they have a blood shortage.

A Facebook post from United Blood Services made reference to a holiday blood shortage on Dec. 26.

KVRR also reports that power outages caused some blood drives to be canceled.

Anyone who wants to donate blood is encouraged to make an appointment which can be done through the United Blood Services website. There are three United Blood Service donation centers in North Dakota. They are in Bismarck, Fargo and Minot.

The Bismarck location is at 517 South 7th Street.
