Auditions for Bismarck State College's spring musical, "The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade" by Peter Weiss, will be held Jan. 28-29.

The play, also known as "Marat/Sade," will contain up to 30 cast members to perform April 2-6. Tryouts will be from 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 28 and 3-5 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the Sidney J. Lee Auditorium. Callbacks will be held 6-8 p.m. Jan. 30.

The play will need performers from all aspects of theater including:

  • Actors
  • Singers
  • Dancers
  • Movement Artists

Those who wish to try out for a singing role must have 12 bars of a ballad from a musical show prepared; an accompanist will be provided. Scripts may be checked out for 24-hour periods from the BSC Library.
