As Philadelphia Eagles fans are wondering what the immediate future holds for Carson Wentz, he recently sat down with ESPN's Sal Paolantonio and gave as much of an update as he could for the time being.

Everything that's been heard prior to the interview in the above clip from ESPN is along the same lines of what Wentz told Paolantonio. It's as good as anything we could've expected to hear given the magnitude of the injury that Wentz suffered to his left knee in Week 14 of last season.

Wentz stated in part of the interview:

...I'm confident I'll be back Week 1 and ready to play against Atlanta on Thursday night...rehab and everything's been going really well, I'm feeling great, I'm progressing right along...time will tell...I'm confident and I believe that Week 1 is a good target date.

That Thursday night game Wentz referenced is the first game to kickoff the 2018 NFL season on September 6th.

Whether it's Week 1 or later, we're all certainly hoping to see a fully healthy #11 under center for the Eagles sooner than later in 2018.
