After his stellar performance on Monday Night Football, Carson Wentz has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7 in the NFL.

Wentz threw for 268 yards on 17 of 25 passing with a career-high 4 touchdown passes while rushing 8 times for 63 yards, and compiled a quarterback rating of 126.3 in the Philadelphia Eagles win over the Washington Redskins, 34-24.

The 4 touchdown passes give Wentz 17 on the year, which leads the NFL. With the year he's had so far, analysts across the NFL are talking about Wentz as a potential MVP candidate.

It's the second time Wentz has received the NFC Offensive Player of the Week in his short career. He earned the honor in Week 3 of his rookie season. Only Wentz, Russell Wilson, and Cam Newton have won the award in each of their first two seasons in the past 25 years.

Wentz has led the Eagles to a 6-1 start, as they're currently in first place in the NFC East entering Week 8. The Eagles will host the winless San Francisco 49ers (0-7) on Sunday at noon.
