It took four tries, but the Century Patriots finally have their first ever state football championship after defeating Minot 28-21 in the 2015 Dakota Bowl at the FargoDome.

This was Century's fourth trip to the Dakota Bowl. In 1977, the Patriots lost to Fargo Shanley and, in both 2011 and 2012, they lost to crosstown rivals Bismarck High.

The Patriots were led by senior quarterback Dalton Feeney who threw for four touchdowns, two of which went to senior wide receiver Adam Geiger.

Geiger added an interception in the fourth quarter to help cement the Patriots win.

Minot was the top team in Class AAA for much of the season and defeated Century 35-7 during the regular season, but they couldn't reclaim that magic in the Dakota Bowl. Minot's last state championship in football was in 1980.

This completes a trifecta for the Patriots, who also won the boys hockey and basketball state championships this year, as well.
