The Bismarck Tribune is reporting a Century High School teacher was subjected to paid administrative leave pending the completion of an investigation due to complaints from students.

Gregg Schmidt, a social studies teacher is accused of making inappropriate comments to students and for having items in his classroom that were not appropriate.

The incident took place in November, and was placed on paid leave until the investigation was complete. This investigation was completed last week and the opinion was made public.

Schmidt was accused of inappropriate comments, inappropriate touching of female students and for having women's shorts hanging from antlers in his class room.

Even while the investigation was ongoing, there were many students coming to Schmidt's defense on social media.

The final investigation concluded that Mr. Schmidt violated several policies including having unhealthy teacher-to-student boundaries in the classroom space and for unwelcome touching of students and violating other code of ethics for educators in accordance with the State of North Dakota.

Mr.Schmidt has been a teacher in the school system since 1998.

It is unclear when or where he will be in the classroom again after he completes his training program.
