Century High School senior Dalton Feeney has been named one of the eight finalists for the 2016 North Dakota Mr. Basketball award.

The finalists for the senior-only award, which is presented by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, were announced earlier this evening (3/16), according to InForum.

Feeney helped lead the Patriots to a fifth-place finish in this year's Class A state championship tournament and was awarded the West Region Senior Athlete of the Year award.

During the season, Feeney averaged over 20 points per game for Century, along with more than five rebounds.

The other finalists for the 2016 North Dakota Mr. Basketball award include Jason Feather (Four Winds-Minnewaukan), Braedan Hanson (Grand Forks Red River), Graham Hurlburt (Enderlin), Braydon Lund (Minot), Brody Nieuwsma (Strasburg-Zeeland), Hayden Sadowsky (Hettinger-Scranton), and Noah Wanzek (Jamestown).

Feeney already has one POTY award, after being named the 2015-16 Gatorade North Dakota Football Player of the Year late last year.

The 2016 North Dakota Mr. Basketball will be announced following the Class B boys' state championship game Saturday, March 19th, in Minot.
