Controversial Sign Causes Problems for Fargo Business [VIDEO, POLL]

A Fargo contractor supply store took a shot at being clever with their store's sign in an attempt to sell more merchandise. It didn't take long for the controversial sign to backfire.

Joe Rents and Contractor Supply is dealing with many angry Fargo-Moorhead residents after changing the words on their store sign to 'Ex Wife Sale. Duct Tape. Chainsaw. Shovels.'

A photo of the sign was posted onto Valley News Live's Facebook page and it went viral with comments. Some sided with Joe Rents and said people need to have a sense of humor, but most were outraged by the reference to domestic abuse.

The Fargo Rape and Abuse Crisis Center called Joe Rents to express their concerns. The sign was taken down but time will tell if it had any negative effect on business.
