The heat continues to plague the upper Midwest states including Minnesota and The Dakota's. The temperatures will continue to be in the 90's this week, heat indices locally will be near the century mark.

The heat continues to effect many in the Midwest. At least 10 people were taken to the hospital from the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday at St. Paul where the heat was near 100 degrees and the heat index 110. Farmers can not get enough moisture as corn, honey/ bee farming and potato crops are in severe distress.

The National Weather Service has issues a SEVERE HEAT ADVISORY for many area's in North and South Dakota and Minnesota for Monday as the heat will continue for most of the week into the weekend.

Take the necessary precautions, take breaks from the heat, stay hydrated, check on the elderly especially those without air conditioning and check on cattle and pets. Make sure both have shade and fresh water.
