The original Ralph Engelstad Arena, on the campus of the University of North Dakota, is coming down to make room for a new indoor athletics complex.

UNDSports posted the above picture on Instagram earlier this afternoon with the following quote:

Bittersweet day with end of one era as old REA comes down, but new high performance training facility on the horizon.

According to Valley News Live, the original Ralph Engelstad  Arena opened in 1972 and was the site of close to 600 UND hockey games. The "new" Ralph opened its doors in 2001.
