An early morning shooting in western North Dakota is being investigated by authorities and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

One person was sent to the hospital from injuries received in an early morning shooting according to The Dickinson Press. The shooting occurred early Monday at a residence west of Dickinson. The call came just after 3 AM. Officers found one victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported to CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital, then to St. Alexius in Bismarck with unspecified injuries.

Dickinson Police and Stark County Sheriff's department responded to the call.

Stark County Sheriff Terry Oestreich said there is “nothing to lead us to believe the public is in any danger from this incident.”
