Folks heading out to the 13th year of the Haunted Fort in Mandan better buckle up, because North Dakota's premier haunted attraction will be more terrifying than ever before.

We had the chance to catch up with Matt Schanandore, Events Director at Fort Lincoln, where he filled us in on some interesting tidbits about the Haunted Fort. He talked about how they strive to make the event more terrifying each year and where they found the inspiration for their new 'extreme haunt', the Dark Hood, where people will walk through the haunt wearing an executioner-style hood in what Schanandore hopes will be "the scariest walk of their life".

People can prepare for a new level of horror this year, as the scare team will be able to get closer to attendees than ever before. Schanandore explains that the decreased depth perception will only add to the terror.

Haunted Fort is open every Friday and Saturday night from October 10 - November 1. Gates open nightly at 7pm, with the doors opening at 7:30. Costs are $12 for general admission and $32 for VIP 'skip the line' passes.
