[UPDATE] Body Found in Moorhead Positively Identified as Missing NDSU Student Tom Bearson

UPDATE (9/25): A Minnesota medical examiner has ruled the death of NDSU student Tom Bearson a homicide, according to The Bismarck Tribune.

UPDATE (9/23): The body has been positively identified as Tom Bearson.

Fargo authorities believe they have found the body of Tom Bearson, an NDSU student who had been missing since Saturday (9/20).

Acting on information gleaned throughout the several-day investigation, searchers in Moorhead found a body matching Bearson's description and clothing late Tuesday morning. Authorities say the body was found after about 20 minutes of searching.

Although it hasn't been disclosed where the body was located, it was reported that police were surrounding an area by Larry's RV Sales & Service in south Moorhead that was being taped off and guarded by police. Investigators and Clay County's top prosecutor were on the scene, although no more details were available.

Police Chief Ken Ternes said at a 1pm press conference Tuesday afternoon that it was too early to confirm a cause of death. A death investigation will now be done to confirm the person's identity.
