A fire at a Bismarck apartment complex briefly had residents on stand by as firefighters quickly extinguish the flames.

Bismarck Fire Department responded to a call at 103 Bismarck Expressway about 11 AM today. (4/7) The fire was located behind the apartments in the garages.

The fire quickly spread to various garage stalls, and the roof collapse on a few.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish.

Fire and smoke damaged a few units.

All residents have been able to return home.

The investigation continues.
