Five Former NDSU Football Stars Currently Playing in the NFL

The 2011 NDSU senior is known for his versatility on the field. He earned first-team All-Missouri Valley honors and was named All-American.

Cornick began his NFL career with the New York Jets as a college free agent on July 12, 2012. He was signed as an offensive tackle to the Denver Broncos practice squad on Dec. 10 of that same year.

NDSU remembers Humber as a freshman stand out the first day of fall camp. He played 32 games in his college career including 22 starts. In 2008, he was part of the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first-team.

Humber was placed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2009. After a comeback from a broken hand in Nov. 2010, the New Orleans Saints signed him on Dec. 1.

During the 2013 season, Humber was in all 16 regular season games with three starts. He tied his career-high with 24 tackles.

Mays made his mark by the end of his Bison football career in 2007. Not only was he named the 2007 Great West Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he was number five on the Sports Network's linebacker charts.

Mays began as a sixth-round draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles where he stayed for two seasons. He moved on to the Denver Broncos for three seasons, starting 21 games.

He was most recently signed as a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs.

As 2011 team captain of the Bison, Veldman finished his college career with 49 receptions, 584 yards and seven touchdowns.

He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as tight end in 2012. He spent his first season in the NFL injured after tearing his MCL during preseason.

After being released on June 11, 2013, Veldman signed with the Detroit Lions 6 days later.

Dahl was a strong safety for NDSU through his last year in 2006. He finished his senior year with 61 recorded tackles, 32 solo.

He signed with the New York Giants in 2007, where he made his first start of his NFL career against the Giants.

Dahl signed with the San Francisco 49ers on March 16.
