Although the National Arbor Day was celebrated last week, Bismarck will be having a ceremony this Friday, May 2, at 1:30 pm at the Will-Moore Elementary School.  The celebration is hosted by the Bismarck Forestry Division.

Arbor Day trees will be dedicated to local citizens; the tree planting this year is in memory of John and Kay Wanser. John Wanser was as an elementary school principal at the school, and his wife, Kay, also worked with kids there.  They both had a great love for children and for learning.

The city of Bismarck will receive the 37th consecutive Tree City U.S.A. Award, which is an award given from the National Arbor Day Foundation. The tree planting will take place at the end of the program.
