••53rd Annual Morton County Fair is on THRU Sunday In New Salem This is great family fun. Rodeo on Friday night, Barrel Racing SAT at 11am, and games galore and special stuff for the kids from 12N-5P on Saturday. Annual BBQ Chicken dinner at 430 with Rodeo action at 630. SUN—ranch rodeo competition, antique tractor pull, and much more.
••”The Hobbit---The Musical” hits the stage presented by the Dakota Stage and the Shade Tree Players, this FRI & SAT at 7pm at the high Prairie Arts & Science Complex at 1810 Schafer Street. $10 for adults $6 for kids.
••St. Gabriels’ Community Duathlon is on SAT at 830am at McDowell Dam off Highway 10. It’s a 3K run, 13 mile Bike and 5K Run. Great exercise and fun!
••Catch Shakespeare’s “Taming Of The Shrew” live FRI at 7pm at Eckroth Plaza, SAT & SUN at 2pm at Capitol a’Fair. TUES at High Prairie Arts Center at 7pm. WED Lincoln Park in Lincoln. Presented by the Dakota Stage and the Shade Tree Players.
••Mandan Farmers Market is open SAT starting at 8am at Heritage Park on Main Street. Open til everything sells out. Also open TUES at 10am, and SAT thru October 29th.
••39th Annual Capital A’Fair is on SAT from 10am-345pm and SUN from 11am-345pm at the Capitol Grounds in Bismarck. Lots of great art—over 130 artisans, crafts, music, and of course FOOD!
••Learn About Photography at a mini-class at Bob’s Photo at 1019 East Interstate Avenue SAT Morning 10-1130am. FREE.
••Big Family Fun Day is set for SAT from 1-4pm at our Savior’s Lutheran Church, corner of 19th and Divide Avenue. Games, bounce castle, moonwalk and refreshments. 2 kids bikes will be given away. FREE admission.
••Come & See The Animals! The Dakota Zoo now has their summer hours is open daily from 10am-7pm. $7 for adults, $4 for children. New bear cubs and baby camels to see!
••Take a Guided Tour of Buckstop Junction. Any Saturday or Sunday at 1pm. Vintage Shop is open from 12noon-4pm. $5 for adults and $3 for students, off the East Bismarck Expressway.
••Bismarck Public Library Summer Movie Day is on TUESDAYS from 130-3pm. Come to the Story Room and watch a movie. Kids are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult or babysitter at least 12. FREE
••Capital Farmers Market is on all day Saturday in the K-Mart Parking Lot starting at 8am.
••Members of the Military and their immediately family in FREE at the Gateway of Science thru Labor Day. It’s open FRI & SAT 10am-5pm and MON-THU 12N-7pm. 1810 Schaefer Street in Bismarck, near Bismarck State.
••Summer Band Shell Concerts continue MON THRU FRI at 730pm Mandan’s Dykshoorn Park on the west end of Main Street. Dacotah Lions sell burgers and brats EVERY TUE from 530-730pm. The concerts are FREE!
