••Come & See The Animals!  The Dakota Zoo is open on FRI-SAT and SUN from 1-5pm. 

 

••Make A Gingerbread House for Gingerbread Junction And then drop it off FRI-SAT-SUN-MON or TUE at Touchmark at 1000 West Century Avenue.  This is the 4th annual Gingerbread Junction.  Lots of different categories, and entries will be judged on overall appearance, originality, creativity and difficulty. 

 

••Christmas Open House is on at Buckstop Junction It’s on this SAT from 12Noon-4pn.  Free coffee and cookies and a chance to get started on your Christmas shopping.  Proceeds benefit the Missouri Valley Historical Society.

••Comedians Williams & Ree Live at the Belle!  The two who called themselves “The Indian and the White Guy” are hilarious.  They’ve toured with Garth Brooks and the Oak Ridge BoysSee them perform SAT night at 8 at the Belle downtown at 8pm.  Tickets $32.50.  Doors at the Belle open up at 7pm.

 

••Holiday Open House is on at the Former Governor’s Mansion”  On Sunday from 1-5pm Come see this beautifully decorated home at 320 East Avenue B downtown.  Free coffee, cookies and hot cider will be served, plus live Christmas music.  The mansion will also continue the open house next Sunday the 2nd.

 

••Wanna Help Sing Handel’s “Messiah?”  Rehearsals for the 83rd annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah” are on this SUN from 4-6pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd Street and Avenue “A” in Bismarck.  Anyone who loves to sing is invited to be a part!!

 

••Family Story Time is on THIS MONDAY” At the Bismarck Public Library at 630pm.  It’s a free event for both adults and kids.  The Library is at 515 North 5th downtown Bismarck.

 ••19th Annual Dickens Festival is on in Garrison!   It opens up Friday and continues through December 8th.  This town of 1500 people gets transformed into a Victorian down of the mid 1800’s.  It’s like the Charles Dickens' era.   There are street vendors, the Queen Elizabus, a lighted parade, fruitcake toss, English tea, craft show, a toy and collector’s show and you can enjoy a live presentation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”  Events are on every FRI SAT & SUN through December 8th.  Garrison is between Bismarck and Minot, right off Highway 83.

“Red Dawn” (PG-13)/opens Wednesday

A group of young U.S. patriots wage guerrilla warfare against the invading military that's taken over their small town in this remake of the 1984 Cold War classic starring Patrick Swayze. Their friends and neighbors taken as prisoners of war, the students arm themselves, flee into the nearby woods to organize a counterattack, and strike back at the enemy using home-field advantage. Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan star.

 

“Life Of Pi” (PG)

The ponderous adventure novel gets the big-screen treatment with this Fox 2000 adaptation helmed by director Ang Lee. The coming-of-age story surrounds the son of a zookeeper who survives a shipwreck by stowing away on a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a Bengal tiger by the name of Richard Parker.  This film comes from India

 

“Rise Of The Guardians” (PG)
