•MINNESOTA TWINS  On the road to play the Yankees in New York City

 

 ••See “The Phantom Toothbrush”  It’s part of the Dakota Stage and Sade Tree Players Summer Children’s Theater season.   It’s the story about a little boy who learn everything has a purpose.  It’s a fun story for kids of all ages.    Performances at the Dakota Stage 412-East Main Avenue on FRI & SAT at 7pm and SUN at 2pm.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for kids. 

 

••Bikini Boat & Car Wash to benefit the North Dakota Wishing Star Foundation for kids is on SAT starting at 2pm at the Broken Oar in Mandan.   Very attractive young ladies in bikinis will wash your car for a donation for a very good cause---North Dakota Wishing Star.

 

••Come & See The Animals!  The Dakota Zoo now has their summer hours is open daily from 10am-7pm.  $7 for adults, $4 for children.    New bear cubs and baby camels to see!

 

••Take a Guided Tour of Buckstop Junction. Any Saturday or Sunday at 1pm.  Vintage Shop is open from 12noon-4pm.  $5 for adults and $3 for students, off the East Bismarck Expressway.

 

 

••Bismarck Public Library Summer Movie Day is on TUESDAYS from 130-3pm.  Come to the Story Room and watch a movie.  Kids are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult or babysitter at least 12.   FREE  

 

••Capital Farmers Market is on all day Saturday in the K-Mart Parking Lot starting at 8am.

 

••Members of the Military and their immediately family in FREE at the Gateway of Science thru Labor Day.   It’s open FRI & SAT 10am-5pm and MON-THU 12N-7pm.  1810 Schaefer Street in Bismarck, near Bismarck State.

 

••It’s Mini-Golf at the Bismarck Public Library FRI night from 730-10pm.  Mini-golf, live music and refreshments.  FREE and it’s open to all area teen.   515 North 5th Street. 

 

••Camera Camp for Kids and A Safari At The Zoo.  It’s on SAT from 10am-12noon at the Dakota Zoo.  Kids will learn about photography, how to operate a digital camera, how to take a photo and view it, plus fun photo ideas.   Cost is $25.

 

••St. Alexius Auxiliary Bedding & Blanket Sale is on MON from 7-7 and TUE from 7-5.  Sheet sets, baby blankets, throws and comforter sets.   Proceeds go to projects that enhance patient and visitor welfare.    It’s on at 10th & Rosser.

 

••Burleigh County Extension office has great stuff for your yard Mondays at noon through out July.   This MON---what’s bugging your tree?   It’s on a 12noon and it’s free!  3715 E. Bismarck Expressway.    22nd—Fruit, Vegetables and Plants and on the 29th---Landscaping your yard.

 

 


••Summer Band Shell Concerts continue MON THRU FRI at Mandan’s Dykshoorn Park on the west end of Main Street.  Dacotah Lions sell burgers and brats EVERY TUE from 530-730pm.   The concerts are FREE!!

 

NEW MOVIES FOR THE WEEKEND: 

“Pacific Rim”(PG-13)

A washed-out controller and pilot of a series of robots called Jaegers, which are put into production after Earth is invaded by a species of giant monsters.  Good sci-fi/fantasy stuff.  Ron Perlman stars.

 

“Grown Ups 2”(PG-13)

This second gathering of childhood friends finds Lenny (Adam Sandler) moving his family back to the same small town where he grew up. Now, the adults (Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade) are the ones learning from their kids as the last day of school and its antics and surprises take center stage.
