Mary Poppins may have sang years ago--"A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down," well---here's the bad new----researchers found that 71% of U.S. adults get more than the recommended 10% of their daily calories from added sugar in foods and beverages – and that this sugar consumption is connected to a higher risk of death due to cardiovascular disease.  Turns out the added sugar is causing problems in foods such as:  sugar-sweetened drinks, grain-based desserts, fruit drinks, ice cream, candy, ready-to-eat cereals, and bread. Lots of it is stuff we love, but I've cut back on sugary stuff and I can tell a difference--and so has my doctor!! (Los Angeles Times)
