When you take your kids out trick-or-treating on Halloween, do you let them run door to door scavenging for candy like a bunch of sugar-deprived savages? Or, do you try to teach them a little trick-or-treat etiquette?

That's right, there's actually etiquette to follow ...

Don't let them stay out too late. It's not nice to ring someone's doorbell when it's late and they've had enough of kids demanding treats.

Tell your kids to take only one piece of candy at each house and teach them to say "thank you."

Only visit houses with lights on. If the lights are off, no one is home ... or no one inside wants to give out candy.

Feed your kids a big meal before heading out so that they don't try to devour all the candy as soon as they get it.
