It's the dog days of July! The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a HEAT ADVISORY for most of the listening area.

The counties included in the advisory are Morton, Burleigh, Oliver, Ward, Kidder, Grant, Sioux and Emmons.

A HEAT ADVISORY means that hot temperatures are expected with the combination of high humidity to create a situation for heat illnesses or heat stroke.

Outside workers are encouraged to take plenty breaks in the shade or air condition, drink plenty of fluids and make sure your pets and livestock have fresh water and shade.

It is also advised to check on neighbors and the elderly.

The advisory expires at 8 p.m. CST, Tuesday, July 19th.
