Quarterback Carson Wentz silenced the critics on Sunday, September 11th, when he led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 29-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns at Lincoln Financial Field.

Wentz's final stat-line looked like this: 22-of-37 for 278 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the game with a 101.0 quarterback rating.

To put Wentz's performance in perspective, let's quickly compare his statistics to those of some other well-known quarterbacks who played in week one of the 2016 NFL Season, courtesy of ESPN.

For starters, Wentz threw for more passing yards than four former Heisman Trophy winners: Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Wentz finished the game with a 101.0 quarterback rating, which was better than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, who was once selected number one overall in the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. It was also better than the quarterback ratings for superstar quarterbacks like the Seattle Seahawks' Russell Wilson and the San Diego Chargers' Philip Rivers.

Up next for Wentz and the Eagles, it's a trip to Soldier Field to take on Jay Culter and the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football on September 19th.
