On Thursday (Nov. 30) morning, the Mandan Police Department and Morton County Sheriff's Office were involved in a high speed chase.

Video and details of the incident were posted to the Morton County Sheriff's Facebook page.

At 9:00 a.m. the Mandan Police attempted to pull over Michael Mize who was 'driving a suspicious vehicle.'

Mize refused to stop and drove beyond city limits onto Highway 1806. A Morton County Sheriff's Officer spotted the vehicle and left his squad car. The officer asked Mize to get out of the car but instead Mize fled and led officers on a high speed chase.

Mize reached speeds up to 90mph.

Eventually Mize's vehicle came to a stop near Prairie Knights Casino after soon after the vehicle drove over a spike strip set up by the Morton County Sheriff's Department.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Bureau of Indian Affairs were also involved in the chase.

Mize eventually was booked into the Burleigh/Morton Detention Center and faces charges of Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Fleeing a Police Officer, Driving with a Suspended License, and Possession of Marijuana.

Mize is 34 years old and is from Minot.
