With the changing of the seasons and springing ahead Sunday morning, you would think warmer and milder weather would already be in the area, but instead, winter and winter weather will continue to grip North Dakota.

As the winter storm has effected north of the Bismarck area, locally, the National Weather Service in Bismarck has issues a HIGH WIND WARNING through 9 p.m., Tuesday. (March 7th)

Locally, the area can expect northwest wind gusts to 65 mph. which can cause hazardous travel and periods of snow Monday night will cause additional hazardous
travel as the strong winds cause some blowing snow and slippery
travel.

Areas included in the warning area include Bismarck, Mandan, Fort Yates, New Salem, Killdeer,  Beulah, Hazen,Center, Garrison, Washburn, Underwood,Steele, Tappen and Jamestown.
