This past weekend, I was sooooooooo disappointed with "my" Gonzaga Bulldogs taking it on the chin and losing to Wichita State by 6 points.  After all the Zags were a #1 seed out west, and I had picked a Gonzaga-Indiana title game in Atlanta come April.   So--needless to say my brackets are shot.  How about yours?   And you may ask, what are the odds of getting a perfect bracket with NO mistakes....pretty astronomical!

A professor at the University of Cincinnati is actually teaching a class – for credit – on “bracketology.” Professor Michael Magazine has 33 business students in the class for an entire semester, where they attempt to master the art of filling out an NCAA tournament bracket. They run through mathematical models and handicapping – and then fill out the brackets and review how everyone did.

Good thing it’s a pass-fail class – because the odds of filling out a perfect bracket are more than 9.2 quintillion-to-one. That’s a nine, followed by 18 zeroes. To put it in perspective, it's 500,000 times more than our $17 trillion national debt.

You have a better chance of hitting four holes-in-one in a single round of golf.

So … good luck? (Boston Herald)
