It was Mother's Day Weekend in 1999 when I lost my mom.  She was living in the Seattle area and my brother Jon and I were going to see her, but before we could arrive and celebrate Mother's Day that weekend she passed away.  Alice Mae Hemingway continues to live on in my heart and mind---and I still love her very very much.   Looks like there is quite a connection with guys and their moms...check this out!

There’s been an ongoing study of happiness that started in 1938, with researchers tracking people all along the way.

Here’s a rundown of some of the study’s conclusions:

Men who have “warm” childhood relationships with their mothers earn an average of $87,000 more a year than guys who found their mothers to be uncaring.

Men who have poor childhood relationships with their mothers are much more likely to develop dementia as they get older.

Late in their professional lives, a man’s boyhood relationship with his mom – but not his dad – is associated with effectiveness at work.

So, in other words, it’s all about mom. (TheAtlantic.com)
