I happened to come across something on-line about kids and their allowance here in the 21st century.   When I was a kid growing up in the 60's I would get 50 cents to 75 cents a week, but I had to do stuff for it---keep my room clean, do some yardwork and other chores---actually earning the money.    I remember when it finally went to $1 a week--I was thrilled.   I would think $10 a week for a child nowadays would be enough.  Well from what I read--that may not even be close to what some parents are giving their kids for an allowance.

But these days, allowances have climbed as high as $50 a week!  I'm thinking this----Can you believe it? Seriously, what do kids need---that their mom or dad should have to shell out 50 bucks a week??
