The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a house fire Wednesday morning, April 6th, at 10:30 am.

According to Josh Renz who spotted the fire:

Obviously I called 911 first.

The house is located at the  corner of 9th and Capital Avenue downtown. As of publishing time, the fire department was still on the scene.

According to Mr. Renz, the man went back inside the burning house to save his two dogs, then came out with his hair on fire, but refused to be transferred to a local hospital. Mr. Renz said the man replied:

at least I got a haircut.

The man, his two grand daughters, and 2 dogs are all safe and accounted for.
