There was a lot of commotion at the corner of 46th Avenue SE and McKenzie Drive SE near the Wellness Center in Mandan Monday night.

Mandan Police responded about a call of shots fired in the area near the Tesoro and the Family Wellness Center.

The call came in around 7 p.m. and police had the area secure looking for what could be a shooter in the area.

According to KFYR-TV, the area was open to the public after 10 p.m. Monday night after police searched the area, even bringing in a fire truck with a ladder to search on top of the buildings in the area.

Witnesses said they heard what they thought were gunshots and called 911. Responding police officers said there was evidence of shots fired but no arrests were made during the investigation. Apparently, a potential victim fled the scene on foot.

The investigation is continuing.
