Many grass fires were reported and local fire departments battled various fires thought out the state. Most were started in fields, farm land or where rail transportation tracks are located. Most were started by sparks in dry grassy areas and due to the high gusty winds, spread very quickly.

Dry conditions continue to make open fires very hazardous and combined the dryness with the wind equal very dangerous situations. A RED FLAG warning remains in effect for various counties in the listening area.
