Mixed Martial Arts Too “Violent” for Kids?

The governor of South Dakota is squelching efforts to set up a state athletic commission.

The problem?  Mixed Martial Arts, which the gov calls "too violent."  One state rep calls it "Child Porn of Sports"  (full story here from Yahoo! Sports).

The advocates, in the meantime, are making a pretty strong case for M.M.A.  I suggest you read what they have to say.  M.M.A. is picking up steam with rising stars like Ronda Rousey (pictured).

Funny thing is, I seem to recall another game which mostly involves groups of students lining up and smashing their heads together.  Funny, nobody seems to have a problem with that...
