A very sweet story about Sir Paul’s most recent concert this Saturday in Albany, New York caught my eye and I wanted to share it. One particular couple in attendance, John and Claudia, from Rochester New York, had also attended a Paul McCartney concert in Cincinnati back in 2011 where several people with clever signs were called on stage.  The couple, who are huge McCartney fans, held up neon green signs during the Albany concert to see if they could catch Sir Paul’s attention.

Claudia’s read: “He won’t marry me ‘till he meets you.”

John’s read: “I have the ring and I’m 64.”

Lo and behold, Sir Paul noticed the signs during the concert; sure enough, during his final encore, he pulled the couple up onto the stage in front of more than 13,000 people.  McCartney told the crowd he had spotted the signs and asked the couple to introduce themselves, which they did.

Then, McCartney said, “Well, we’re all eyes and ears.  Let’s see it.”

John took the microphone to sing:  “Will you still need me?  Will you still feed me / when I’m 64?”  A few lines in, McCartney and his band joined in, and the crowd sang and clapped along.  John then got down on his right knee and asked Claudia, “Sweetheart, will you marry me?”

Of course, she said yes, and the crowd went wild!
