2 motorcycle clubs here in North Dakota want to make sure we have a place to remember those from this state that never made it back to American soil while serving their country.

The Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club and the Second Brigade Motorcycle Club have been working for several years to bring a POW-MIA memorial to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. It would honor the 360 men from North Dakota from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Cold War that were either held as a Prisoner of War, or considered Missing in Action.

The groups have raised $140,000 of the $200,000 they need to start construction on the memorial. They are hoping to start just after Memorial Day 2014. While the planning for this memorial has been going on for more than 6 years, fundraising in earnest started on Memorial Day 2012.
