Most of us start our day with cup of coffee, right? Now, a new study finds that you may want to start off your next workout with a jolt of caffeine, too.

The study took 24 young men and divided them into two groups. One hour before exercising, one group of men got a pill containing the amount of caffeine in 3 cups of coffee. The others got no caffeine. Then, they all rode stationary bikes for 30 minutes.

Surprise! The guys who took caffeine before exercising had much lower levels of pain during their workouts. (It didn't matter how much coffee they normally drink each day.)

Try having 1-2 cups of coffee or tea an hour before your workout. The more you drink, the less pain you'll feel -- but if you're not used to all that caffeine, you should start slowly.
