The National Weather Service is Bismarck has issued a HIGH WIND ADVISORY for the Bismarck-Mandan area through Tuesday Morning. The statement advises that a strong moving clipper system will enter the state Monday and will have the potential for strong gusty winds. The strength of the winds at this point are uncertain due to the timing of the system. There is the potential for gusty winds of up to 55 MPH. The area of impact will include the cities of Bismarck, Mandan, Williston and Dickenson.

These high winds associated with this clipper could cause difficult travel especially for high profile vehicles.

UPDATE-1/13-3:15AM

The NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the area for blowing snow until Tuesday evening. The system moving through the area will cause blowing snow, gusty winds up to 45 MPH and additional snow of an inch is possible. Travel could be impact with reduce visibilities and blowing and drifting snow.

The WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from 6pm Monday to 9am Tuesday.
