ND Legislator Calls Same Sex Ruling a Victory for the Mentally Ill

Sometimes people say things that make your skin crawl! Dwight Kiefert, a Republican from Valley City serving in the state House had to clarify comments Monday about comments he posted on his Facebook page, after the Supreme Court ruling on Friday concerning same sex marriage.

Here is how the Representative started his post-

"Yea, gay marriage is legal in all 50 states. Great victory for the METALLY (sic) ILL!!!!!, " Gays were taken off the mentally ill list in 1973" and asked if people knew why.

"I'll give you a clue, not because of any study or research," he wrote, adding, "Google it!!"

The Representative said because of his faith, he is against the supreme court ruling. Some may find he is exercising his freedom of speech right. On the other hand, some people could find his remarks offensive. He said he's received death threats for publically stating his believes.
