The North Dakota Department of Health said in a news release that a resident of the state has tested positive for the Zika virus.

The unidentified woman traveled to Puerto Rico while pregnant and contracted the virus. The woman has given birth since the trip but so far no health defects have been found in the baby. The child will continue to be monitored for a year.
