After thirteen years at North Dakota State University, athletic director Gene Taylor said his goodbyes yesterday, as he accepted a position at the University of Iowa.

Taylor was named deputy director for the intercollegiate athletics program at Iowa on Tuesday.

Taylor leaves behind a school that has won three straight FCS Championships and has gone 7-3 against FBS schools. NDSU has won 57 conference championships since 2007-08, a total that includes nine championships in 2013-14, according to GoBison.com.

NDSU has proved to be a stepping stone of sorts for coaches and administrators. Earlier this year, both coaches Craig Bohl (football) and Saul Phillips (basketball) left the program for bigger opportunities: Bohl with Wyoming and Philips with Ohio.

Taylor will remain with NDSU through the month of July. A replacement is expected to be announced shortly.
