In a new report released by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) on Monday, it showed that North Dakotans on blood pressure medication do a good job taking them as they are directed.

The statistics show that over 5 million Americans enrolled in the Medicare Part D program, and aged 65 or older, are putting themselves at risk by not properly taking their blood pressure medication.

Not controlling blood pressure properly can lead to other health issues including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and death.

In the report, it showed that North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin have the highest rates of individuals who are taking their medicine as directed.
