According to the United States Census Bureau, North Dakota's median age has decreased in recent years.

From 2010 to 2017, the median age in North Dakota has dropped from 37 to 35.

During that time, the number of several age groups increased. People in North Dakota younger than 18 increased by 17 percent. North Dakotans between the ages of 15 to 44 increased by 16 percent. Residents in our state that are 65 and older also increased by 17 percent.

The county in North Dakota that had the biggest drop in median age from 2010 to 2017 is Williams County, located in the northwest region of the state. The median age in Williams County dropped from 39 in 2010 to 32 in 2017.

Throughout the U.S., 17 percent of counties saw their median age drop from April 2010 to July 2017. Molly Cromwell, a demographer at the U.S. Census Bureau, mentioned that the majority of counties in the U.S. with median age decreases were in the Midwest, with the largest decreases coming in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

It looks like we're getting younger, North Dakota. After all, you're only as old as you feel.
