Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz May Not Even Suit Up This Season
The Philadelphia Eagles used the second overall pick in this year's NFL Draft to select NDSU quarterback Carson Wentz, but it may be awhile before fans actually see him on the field in a regular season game.
According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice, the Eagles are planning on being incredibly patient with Wentz, potentially keeping him off the field throughout the 2016-17 season. He may not even suit up for the team, as the Eagles will probably only have two active quarterbacks on their roster throughout the season.
The Eagles' hope is that incumbent starting quarterback Sam Bradford keeps the team competitive and stays healthy throughout the season.
If one of those things doesn't happen, the Eagles would then look to backup quarterback Chase Daniels, who the team signed to a 3-year, $21 million deal during the offseason.
